Revealed last night on GTTV the “Forces of Nature” DLC will add three new maps to Gears of War 3 dubbed Aftermath, Artillery, and Cove along with two returning locales, Jacinto and Raven Down.
Revealed by Epic executive producer Rod Fergusson, each map is described as taking place in the middle of or in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Players will be stuck in the middle of a snowstorm on Raven Down that ebbs occasionally but is more often so heavy that it’s difficult to see more than a few meters ahead at any given time. Cove is a very open map but has a very thick layer of fog that masks just about everything. Artillery starts out looking like an ordinary military base, but during gameplay a storm kicks up. Lightning begins to flash on the horizon and eventually a tornado develops and sweeps near the play area causing dust and debris to kick up making it difficult to see, and the buffeting winds can mask your approach. Jacinto is now set at night with some drizzle that is present when a match begins that quickly develops into a heavy rain storm that impedes visibility and lines of sight as water starts sheeting off the buildings. Aftermath is set after a tsunami. There is seaweed and wreckage everywhere, and the main play area sits under a huge cargo ship which was deposited on top of a building during the storm. The area floods and quakes during gameplay which makes it difficult to aim during the quakes, and difficult to be stealthy while splashing through the water.
In addition to the maps, Fergusson revealed to GT.TV that the DLC will include a few Easter Eggs of sorts – four special weapons hidden in the maps called “Elemental Cleavers”. As an example of what you can expect, you’ll be able to locate a “snow cleaver” that can gust an icy breeze at an enemy and stun them from a distance or an “emulsion cleaver” that explodes on impact and does a small amount of AOE burning damage to nearby enemies (in addition to the normal cleaver damage). Also, there are Achievements tied to these weapons for anyone that can find these cleavers and get 25 kills with them in Horde or Beast mode.
Finally, the DLC will also bring with it 4 new character models, three of which – Commando Dom, Mechanic Baird and Savage Grenadier Elite – are based on pre-order bonuses but with unique colors, and are branded as Limited Edition, as well as the never-before-seen Savage Hunter. And 5 new weapon skins for immediate use, and 2 additional weapon skins that can only be unlocked through gameplay which are tied to the above mentioned Easter Egg Achievements, and one colored blue and red for Major League Gaming.
Plus, Gears of War 2 gametype Guardian will be returning as well.
Gears of War 3 Season Pass holders will get the content free when it launches on March 27. No price was established for the DLC, but previous multiplayer DLC was made available for 800MS Points ($10). Forces of Nature will be the fourth and final release in Gears of War 3′s Season Pass, and comes with an additional 10 Achievements worth 250 Gamerscore.

Update:
Below are a couple of fly-through videos of Artillery and Jacinto.

I like the subtle differences on Jacinto. Especially the added paths from the spawn points to the helipad area. And that Savage Hunter is a BAMF! I have finally found my permanent Locust character.
