Games, games, and more games. I don’t think there is a sole on this earth that calls themselves a gamer that isn’t totally amped up for this holiday season. There are so many quality games coming out this season that are honestly going to empty my wallet from about September-December. This is going to be a list of the Top 5 games that I am looking forward to and short reasons why. After you finish reading my version, I would like to hear what you top 5 most wanted games this holiday season and you can even put why you want them if you would like. Before we start, note that this is not in any particular order and this is not how I would rank them in order of how much I wanted them, these are just the top 5 games I am looking forward to the most.

  1. Gears of War 3: I had to start this list out right with a title I can honestly tell everyone here at TGP is most looking forward to. Although for the most part this is not the game that brought about the creation of the LOA, this is the game that we all still play religiously and still enjoy after many, many years. I can also say that since all of us participated in the beta, we are that much more excited for this game to come out. What isn’t there to like about this game? It has a great story, awesome visuals, fantastic multiplayer, and everything in this game you can do with friends. Gears of War to me is the best all-around game that you can get your hands on.
  2. Skyrim: Many of you readers here may not know that I am not a very big fan of RPG’s. To me, most RPG’s require too much time to thoroughly enjoy the game that you are playing but the Elder Scroll’s series is where I make an exception. After how much I enjoyed Oblivion this generation and figuring it couldn’t get much better than that, Skyrim was announced and then showed in greater detail at this years E3 event. All I have to say is they had me since dragon, and if you don’t know what I am talking about you need to watch some of our videos on YouTube. Just the fact they have dragons roaming the free world with their own AI and encounters can be random is enough to make me want to play this game.
  3. Battlefield 3: This game to me, or series, is what military first-person shooters should be all about. You may or may not be surprised that I won’t be putting Call of Duty MW3 on this list, and if you want to the know the reason why, you need not look any further than this game. Now, I will say that this is one of the very few games that I will buy with the intention of mainly purchasing it for the multiplayer. Reason is simple, this is one of the most competitive multiplayers out there, and who doesn’t like blowing up anything and everything. This is truly a team based game and that’s one of the main reasons myself and most people here at TGP love it. BF3 looks to be one of the best looking games coming out and with the new Destruction 2.0, I can’t wait to simply blow up everything I can.
  4. Uncharted 3: Let me first state that I no longer own a PS3 and I will not state the reasons why in this article as I have said why in other posts and podcasts. With that being said, what I have seen of this game and what I have been told about this game makes me want to look into buying a PS3 again to see what all the hype is about. I don’t want to go into details about the game because you can trust me when I say I know I wouldn’t do the game justice, just know that the reason this is on my list is because of how great the game looks visually and with what I have read and been told about the story. (Those of you readers who are PS3 gamers, I want you to tell me in the comments what I am missing out on with this game and why I should pick it up.)
  5. Batman Arkham City: This is a title that I am very excited about because who can honestly say they aren’t a fan of Batman and because of that, doesn’t like this game. That being said, I am still going through the first one because I was too dumb to pick it up when it released but is definitely making me want to purchase the second one launch day. Whenever I play this game, I think of Splinter Cell meets Batman without the me hating Splinter Cell part of the equation (long story involved in that). Main reason this is such a cool game is just because it feels like the new Batman movies, dark and gritty. Plus, who can’t say they don’t like Mark Hamill doing the voice work for the Joker?

There, now I gave you guys a list of the top 5 games that I am looking forward to this holiday season, and I can’t emphasize enough that this list is what I am looking forward to. I would like for you to tell me what you are most looking forward to this holiday season in the comment section, and in a week or so I will compile a list of the top 5 most wanted games this holiday season for the readers. Don’t forget to let me know why you are looking forward to the games you choose, or why a game I chose you are not looking forward to.

Honorable mentions: Twisted Metal, Ryse, Rise of Nightmares, Halo CE: Anniversary, Resistance 3, Mass Effect 3
